Growing Intuitive Eaters 101: Healthy relationships with food for kids

Free from the chronic dieting we were raised around, not passing on disordered eating habits to our kids, ditching the sweets obsession, stopping the mealtime power struggles, being in-tune with hunger and fullness cues. Who WOULDN’T want this for our kids??

This course teaches YOU (the parent or raiser of tiny humans) the foundation for how to nurture your kid’s innate ability to eat intuitively AND how to implement the structure that kids need to support diet variety. We also talk lots about body confidence, how to handle sweets, and navigating family dynamics.

Hi 👋 I’m Dr. Taylor and I am so glad you are here! I have a PhD in nutrition, am a pediatric registered dietitian, and am a mom of 3.

In this course, I share the science (with citations – of course), my clinical experience, and a little bit of mom know-how. Each video is complete with key points, homework, additional resources, and citations (if applicable) in the caption. Some videos have PDF downloads too! A fully comprehensive course.

One of my favorite parts of this course? It’s FREE. 100% completely free. No up-selling, no saving my best info for inside a paid membership, no annoying sales e-mails. I believe that EVERY parent should have easy access to this info. So I decided to take action on that belief and create this course.

Growing Intuitive Eaters 101 is hosted on YouTube, and is FREE to all. Lesson summaries, homework, downloads, important resources, and citations are all in the video descriptions — so make sure to read those for each video!

FAQ

This course is for parents and soon-to-be parents of kids ages 1-12 years old. While the general concepts apply to ALL kids, I do not address some additional dynamics that appear during the teenage years (more on this coming soon). These videos are also useful if you are looking to adjust your own attitude towards food. TLDR; If you want to raise an intuitive eater and implement responsive food parenting, this course is for YOU!

Depends! Growing Intuitive Eaters 101 is usually the best place to start. However, if you feel really good about your child’s relationship with food (and yours) – then Variety 101 (the picky eating course) or my Feeding Kids with ADHD course may be better places to start! These courses are designed so you can come back to the videos that you need, when you need them. So you may find that you will come back to these videos as your family’s feeding journey evolves.

If you are struggling with your own relationship with food, it is ABSOLUTELY possible to work towards fostering a healthy relationship with food in your child. There are aspects of your child’s relationship with food that will reflect your own. But I think it’s a beautiful thing when a parent models prioritizing their own healthy relationships with food – regardless of where your starting line is.

Maybe! Every neurodivergent child is different and will need different eating supports. However, responsive feeding is an approach that works for the neurodivergent and neurotypical kids alike. The strategies included in this course are neurodiversity affirming and absolutely useful for many neurospicy kids. However, many neurodivergent kids will need different or modified strategies. If you have an ADHD kid, check out my Feeding Kids with ADHD course for ADHD specific strategies (which still builds on the things discussed in this course)!

Because I think every parent deserves to have evidence-based, helpful, and FREE information to support them in feeding their kids. This course is a comprehensive picky eating and selective eating course — and I promise I won’t try to upsell you on anything or hide my best information behind a paywall.
